Corona virus and re-opening the fishery
We are anticipating that angling will be allowed again soon and we would like to set out what we plan to do to keep our angler’s and ourselves as safe as possible when we reopen. Set out below are the changes we are making at the fishery. We will aim to give you at least 24 hours’ notice before we reopen.
- We are urging you all to book and pay for your fishing in advance so we know how many people we are expecting, so we can monitor numbers and so we don’t have to handle as much cash – safer for all of us! Please phone 01725 518603, email info@rockbournetroutfishery.co.uk or message us through our facebook page to book in. Once booked please purchase a day ticket through our website. www.rockbournetroutfishery.co.uk/day.html If you have to bring cash for payment, please bring the correct amount where possible. We will have a cash handling policy in place.
- Fishing tickets will need to be filled out on arrival as usual – we will have a ticket station set up in the car park in the open air.
- Current season ticket holders – you have to book in too.
- We expect to be busy – so ‘2 fish’ tickets are only available from 12 noon.
- The anglers lodge is now open. The porta cabin with the fridge and vending machines will be open – Strictly only 1 person in the cabin at a time.
- Remain socially distant from each other and fishery staff – a minimum of 2 meters. Do not gather in groups. Please use common sense!
- We will temporarily be stopping fish gutting.
- We will continue to swap fish for smoked trout – Put your fish in carriers bags provided in porta cabin and place fish in fridge. Let us know how many fish you are swapping and we will get your smoked trout for you.
- No anglers to enter barn
- Wash your hands – soap and hot water in toilets
- Do not visit the fishery if you, anyone you live with or have come in to contact with, in the last two weeks have exhibited symptoms of coronavirus. If we suspect you of being unwell, we will ask you to leave the fishery. This is for everyone’s safety.
Thank you for your understanding in this difficult time, the above measures aim to keep us all safe and get you fishing again. We hope to welcome you all back to the fishery soon.
Keep safe, Rockbourne Trout Fishery team.
